AMS Ltd has been established in 2014 by a small group of young scientists, with the vision of creating new materials with advanced qualities that would be aimed at improving the daily life of the consumer and saving energy.

Persistence, methodology, creativity, and above all, their passion for research and innovation, combined with the development and utilization of nanotechnology technics, have gradually led to the development of innovative materials in coatings, paints, varnishes, adhesives, resins and various other surfactants.

The company’s participation in 14 EU research programs (EU FP7 – Framework Program & H2020 Horizon) and its collaboration through these programs, with the largest European Institutions and Research Institutes, and also with global industrial giants and dozens other small and medium-sized European companies, have established us in the European industry, culminating our membership in the European Energy Efficiency Agency (E2B) as the only Greek company to receive this distinction. At the same time, AMS Ltd acquired the right and obligation to shape the European Energy Policy in the field of innovative materials through Private Partnership Programs (PPP).

Ιn 2009, realizing the growing tendency of 3D printing, and also the new field of application and utilization of the innovative materials, that we had already developed (and we are still developing), the company has joined the International Print Reprap Project under the sponsorship of the Open Source Project. At the same time, the main part of our research was geared towards the development of new materials that would serve the unrestricted intellectual property dissemination and development of 3D printing. Since 2010, collaborations have been developed (which continue until today) with scientific teams from foreign countries in order to exchange data, information, technics in development of products and materials.

However, the biggest problem throughout the research of those materials was our commitment to the European Community to create “generic” materials (that can be used by the majority of consumers without the commitments and limitations that come from International copyright laws). Another problem was the major manufacturers that force the consumers to use only their OEM consumables.

This commitment has led us to test our developing materials in dozens of OEM printers and various manufacturers and technologies to “hurt” both their electronics and mechanical parts in order to achieve extreme printing conditions. This testing determine the behavior of the materials in all possible printing situations.

All these time-consuming processes were rewarded by the presentation of the first results, which conducted in 2015, in the Horizon H2020 European Program with absolute success. By this presentation, the company not only attained the goals of the Program, but also gained the credibility and confidence of the European partners.

Despite the economic recession in Greece, the company has developed new innovative filaments by using “clean” raw materials with ecological additives that improve the flow during printing, thermoplastic and other properties. Such materials are wood, metal, carbon, photochromic materials and other.

In 2016, when we decided the promotion of our products under the trademark 3dedge, we developed a state-of-the-art production line and a control unit of the filaments’ improvement additives.

Also, by the development of a unique quality control unit that has all the necessary modern machines, we ensure the best quality of the products.

We are pioneers in Europe by rebuilding the production process by constructing a new extruder production that minimizes gas production during printing, adopting new innovative cooling methods after extrusion using nitrite to avoid moisture and developing a new way of drying using IR spectrum (Ultraviolet lighting) and vacuum.

At the same time, taking advantage of the know-how that gained from previous research from using and experimenting with 3D printers and limiting the extremely time-consuming process of controlling our materials to extreme conditions, avoiding the use of multiple printers by various manufacturers, we created a new series of printers combining properties of various systems, e.g. Simultaneous printing of two or more different materials or their possible mixing, in small or large sizes, reaching temperatures up to 420 ° C and at speeds above 600 mm / min.
